Like a detective in quest for the obvious villain, Protocole investigates the apparent, the self-evident, and the trivial – and in the end, the protocol says more about its maker than about what it seeks. The exhibition presents six artworks that insist on coherence but lack comprehension, through things like foreign phrases, incomplete breakfasts, and an extensive collection of blank paper. Alongside the artworks, a performance program – with contributions from lovely friends – and the Protocole Zine explore themes of rituals, ambiguity and belonging, inviting the audience to draw their own conclusions.
